Access to station

• The station is located on an embankment near the junction of Benfield Road and Shields Road with separate entrances to each platform off Benfield Road.
• A public car park operated by the City of Newcastle is situated behind ‘The Railway’ public house on Benfield Road. There are 24 unclassified parking bays.

Access to ticketing areas

• Access to Platform 1 is by lift or alternatively by stairs and a steep ramp with no resting places.
• Ramp to Platform 2 has no resting places. Double hand rail available.

Access between platforms

• This station has a degree of step-free access to the platforms, which may be in both directions or in one direction only.
• Via Benfield Road at street level.
