Access to station
- The station is situated on an embankment on the west side of Station Road with separate entrances for each platform.
- Wallsend bus station on Woolley Street is immediately adjacent at street level on the south (Platform 2) side of the Metro station.
- There is a public car park operated by North Tyneside Council at the foot of the Platform 1 ramp on Atkinson Terrace, with 24 unclassified parking bays and 1 designated accessible bay.
Access to ticketing areas
- Platform 1 is accessed by stairs from Station Road or by a ramp on Atkinson Road. Ramp is long but does have resting places.
- Platform 2 is accessed by stairs from Station Road or by a ramp from Wallsend bus station.
- Note that although stairs and ramp both lead directly to the respective ticketing areas, they commence at ground level at opposite ends of the station.
Access between platforms
- This station has a degree of step-free access to the platforms, which may be in both directions or in one direction only.
- Via stairs and Station Road or by a subway which links the bottom of both ramps.
