- Access to station is via Newcastle Road or Portobello Lane and footpaths from surrounding areas including a direct footpath link from the adjacent supermarket to Platform 1.
- There is a large Park and Ride car park 182 unclassified parking bays and 12 designated accessible bays situated between Newcastle Road and Platform 2.
Access to ticketing areas
- Short ramp or steps to Platform 2.
- Longer ramp and steps to Platform 1.
- Both ramps and steps have dual height handrails.
Access between platforms
- This station has a degree of step-free access to the platforms, which may be in both directions or in one direction only.
- Use ramp/steps and over bridge.
