Access to station

• Station is located on Grant Street with separate entrances to both platforms.
• Platform 1 is approached either by ramp from the Albert Road flyover or by stairs from the footbridge linking Grant Street with the Jarrow Bus Station on Napier Street.
• Platform 2 is situated on Grant Street at its junction with Railway Street.
• A car park with 80 unclassified parking spaces and 1 accessible bay is operated by South Tyneside Council is located on Grant Street a short distance from the Platform 2 entrance.

Access to ticketing areas

• Platform 1 can be accessed by ramp or stairs.
• Platform 2 towards has level access.

Access between platforms

• This station has a degree of step-free access to the platforms, which may be in both directions or in one direction only.
• Direct access is by footbridge with stairs at both ends. Note that both flights of stairs are outside the station.
• Wheelchair users will need to use the Albert Road flyover, accessed from Platform 1 by the ramp and from Platform 2 by a ramp at the east end of Grant Street. This ramp has a rough surface and no resting places or handrail. It may therefore be easier to follow a longer route via Railway Street and Caroline Street to reach Albert Road.
